Bulldog A-frame Trailer Couplers
Trailer couplers for a A-frame trailer design by Bulldog rated at 5,000 lbs., 7,000 lbs. and 12,500 lbs. for 2 Inch or a 2-5/16 inch trailer ball. The Bulldog trailer coupler is unique in its design and operation. The socket portion is made of forged steel and grips the ball securely around the large diameter. The collar is held forward by a coil spring to keep the coupler tight and closed on the trailer ball. Because of the forced of the spring and the shape of the collar, it is not possible for the collar of the trailer coupler to be bumped or accidentally knocked rearward while towing the trailer. The coupler is designed to automatically maintain a tight grip on the ball even as the coupler ball or socket starts to wear. The trailer coupler ball and coupler socket wear is compensated for by forward collar travel beyond the normal closed condition, which takes up the slack.
